About Rita Lulay Malsch
RITA LULAY MALSCH, the youngest of four girls, was born and raised in the picturesque and medieval city of Heppenheim, Germany. Her father loved theatre and her mother music. Rita inherited both the love for the written word and music. Each plays a major role in her art. Rita painted on and off whenever her work schedule allowed it. She got more and more excited when she received ribbons from various local fairs and acceptances from juried exhibitions. In 2002, she was involved in an automobile accident caused by a drunk driver. Doctor visits and surgeries followed. She was forced to close her business working with children. Her last spine surgery in 2011 left her handicapped. While adjusting to a new life, drawing and painting became an important part of her healing process. Rita feels at home in realistic, abstract, and non-representational art. Her main medium is acrylic, but she also enjoys soft and oil pastel, pencil, colored pencil, watercolor pencil, and Sumi and acrylic inks. Her first book is called "My Family, My Friends, My Life - These Lifted Me Up Along the Way" by Isabel von der Waldesruh (pen name). Her second book "Secure in God" by Rita Malsch, OCDS, is a collection of poems and artworks.
